Rafting in nepal

Rafting

Whitewater in Nepal? You bet! Nepal is the most vertical country in the world, with great rivers rushing down from the high Himalayas. In flood these rivers are monsters, and even during low flow they remain exciting adventures. We work with two rafting outfits in Kathmandu as agents. We book your program at the same prices you would directly, and handle all the details.

Ultimate Descents

Most of our rafting programs are booked with Ultimate Descents, a terrific Kathmandu outfit that delivers the best and safest programs at very reasonable price. Their staff and equipment are first rate, and the owner, David Allardice, literally "wrote the book" on rafting in Nepal.

Bhote Kosi Fabulous two day programs of grade 4 and 4+ whitewater based out of their new camp high in the hills. This is an adrenaline shot!

Kali Gandaki Five day programs out of Pokhara, through gorges and over fast rapids. Exciting rapids and leisurely paddling past farms and villages.

Karnali A true 12 day odyssey, starting with a two day trek into the river and eight great days down one of the monster rivers of the Himalayas. Nothing like it anywhere but Nepal.

And others! Programs to fit any interest and schedule, both in fixed groups and individualized programs. From less than $100 per person, including transportation, meals, lodging, safety staff and all equipment.

Do it! Call us for more information, itineraries, and prices.

Brigands' Bend

If heartstopping thrills aren't your scene, but you still want the excitement and fun of river rafting, consider programs with this outfit. On the calmer Trisuli River, Brigand's Bend is a luxury tented camp set high on a bluff above the river. From this base the staff runs rafting programs of from a few hours to three days.

All equipment, meals, and staff are included, and there is great cultural interaction with the villagers of Taguwatar next to Brigand's Bend. Walk through the fields and village, and walk in the pretty hills above town.

Life is good at Brigand's Bend, with everything included except clocks and hassles.

Your host Brian Whyte is an Anglo Indian who has lived in Nepal for 25 years and was honored with Nepalese citizenship many years ago. His vision of care and hospitality is unmatched.

Brigand's Bend programs operate year 'round from less than $100 per person.
